27/04/10 - My Trip To Venice

I had booked my Red Letter Days incentive to Venice for this weekend just gone by. Thanks to the volcanic ash, we (wifey and me) didn't know if we would be able to go, let alone come back! The restrictions were eased last week and we travelled over to Gatwick Airport fully expecting our flight to be cancelled. Thankfully, Easyjet were running as normal so we managed to jet off for a long weekend to Venice. More

08/04/10 - My Dream Affiliate Network Wishlist

After using affiliate networks for a while, you get to see features on some you like and would love to see rolled out to other networks. There's also a few things you think of that networks don't currently offer.

Here's my list of dream changes I'd love to see implemented across the UK affiliate networks. More

01/04/10 - Thank You DFDS Seaways For Spotify Premium!

DFDS Seaways ran a competition a while back offering one lucky winner to win a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound5 system worth £4,500. Every sale would get an entry into the competition and one lucky winner (Quidco) would scoop the prize.

Knowing that not all affiliates are a) going to be able to generate sales and b) promoting the brand right now, they also offered 10 runner up prizes of 12 month Spotify Premium subscriptions. To qualify for the prize draw for these, you would either need to make 1 sale if you didn't make a sale in 2009 or write a piece about DFDS Seaways (which is the route I took).

Roll on a few weeks and I'm now the proud listener to ad-free streaming music! I'm an avid Spotify listener too stingy to pay for the ad-free privileged so this is very much welcomed! More

01/04/10 - Time For a New Affiliate Business Strategy

It's no secret that the affiliate industry is ever changing. What was in fashion last year is probably old news today. As it's approaching the end of the 2009/2010 tax year, it makes sense to re-assess my business strategy. If you've got a huge portal website (the likes of a popular voucher code site, a competitions site, a freebies site, etc.) then the chances are you don't need to do this as much as a small non-specialised affiliate although it's probably still a worthwhile activity.

I thought this process might be of some use to other affiliates so here's my thoughts on the matter. More
