I am not sure if you have ever come across Wordtracker before but I have used it once before.
It consists of comprehensive databases of search terms. That is it.
However, the real power is what can be done with those keywords.
Wordtracker can generate keyword lists based on a couple of phrases. So why would you want to pay for this when there is some free software out there that does this?
Quality.
The free software options (e.g. Good Keywords) tend to use the Overture database which can be out of date by a month. Plus, this is just one engine. Wordtracker uses a significantly larger pool of resources and hence can return up to date and relevant keywords.
Wordtracker also returns a KEI figure that tells you whether the keyword or keyphrase is worth competing on.
Ultimately, the real benefit of using Wordtracker is that it can give you more accurate and up-to-date information about keywords.
The next benefit is that there is a free trial to let you take Wordtracker for a spin. Find out whether it would be useful for you.
So let's discuss cost. The free trial is (obviously) free but it is limited. You can get a flavour of the true power of Wordtracker but to experience it in all its glory, you would have to stump up some cash.
Thankfully, Wordtracker offer several time based packages to help you keep costs to a minimum:
