Am I An Affiliate?

The last time I looked, I was an affiliate.
So why am I having to compete against the merchant of all people?
The banner SatNav2U are running is shown below:
Affiliates competing against affiliates is common place. I compete with other sat nav system affiliates, as well as affiliates specialising in consumer electronics.
But surely it defeats the object of having affiliates if we now have to compete with merchants?
