5 Tips For Increasing Your Productivity

Here are five simple tips to help you stay focussed on your affiliate marketing efforts.

1 - Turn Off Your Email Client

For me, email is the number 1 distraction, with number 2 being RSS feeds. get into a habit of turning off your email client once you have checked your emails. This will help to stop you from clicking Send/Receive as much as you do!

2 - Focus On The Money

Essentially if you are looking to do affiliate marketing full time, you need to earn decent money from it. Therefore, make a list of what you want out of life. Material incentives help drive you forward.

3 - Look For The Easiest Way

Why try and complicate things? Always look for the simplest way. You want a reviews website? Use Wordpress. You want a price comparison website? Use Price Tapestry and make sure you buy a website template for it too ;-)

Naturally, if you want a website that automatically checks your emails, pays your bills and makes you coffee, you might need something custom made!

4 - If Writing Content, Choose a Passion

If you are writing about stuff, make sure that stuff is something you are interested in. It makes it significantly easier and more pleasant.

If your site is service based (e.g. a subscription service, a price comparison website, etc.) then this rule need not apply as you could probably set up a good ranking website about something that doesn't interest you in the least.

5 - Look For Lazy Solutions

This is essential, especially if you are a one (wo)man band. The last thing you want to be doing is spending 10 hours a day updating websites, adding content, doing this, that, and the other.

Whenever you set up a site, make it easy on yourself. That's why anti-spam widgets were created for blogs! The last thing you want to be doing is swimming through spam comments looking for genuine comments.

The lazy solution could be one that incorporates user generated content. It could be one that automates a mundane and routine task. It could be as simple as setting up an autoresponder or a feedburner email list.
