I've just finished changing the graphs on Compare Sat Nav to a SWF Flash alternative. The way I used to create them was via the PHP imagejpeg function, generating an image from my price check data. Now, I have integrated the Open Source software Open Flash Chart.

Here's a demo of a small graph (Navman S30) and a bigger graph (TomTom One GB).
 
I'm quite chuffed with the price tracking facility as it adds that little bit extra to a standard price comparison website.

It took a fair bit of coding to get off the ground and a fair bit to get right but the end results are worth it. Just take a look at the Garmin Streetpilot 7200 and you'll see what I mean!

Nice! I really liked the charts!

Interesting how the price dips over time. It'd be cool to see how the average price of similar models change over time, then you could predict the best time to buy. You'd see that in 2-3 weeks time the price would drop by 50% so wait until that happens. You could also plot data such as when the next model came out, when a similar cometitor came out etc... so you could see how these effect the price. Then you could plot when similar models are GOING to com out in the future - more prediction.

Pretty cool dude. Lots of scope for analytics of data.

Thanks for the feedback. It's always nice to have the software author drop by! I see this as the first step to some exciting stuff! The PHP imagejpeg solution was OK but it wasn't scalable like this is.
