Friday, 21 December 2007
I've just been reading Kieron's thank you list for Christmas presents from networks and merchants. Now he's turning over thousands of pounds and is a rock solid 'super affiliate'.
But what about us little people? I've had nothing this year. I've had one impersonal email saying "Seasons Greetings". No cards, no freebies, no presents. I'm not saying I expect anything but when my inbox is rammed full of commission change emails, it would be nice to have a "Merry Christmas David" email from someone. I'm not too bothered about presents. I had nothing last year, I have nothing this year and will probably not get anything for sometime.
But where's the festive love?
Perhaps I'm expecting too much?
Maybe most affiliates are forgotten, and only the big boys that are remembered. In all fairness, the blogs I read are what I class as super affiliates, or wealthy affiliates, so perhaps because all of these are thanking people, it feels like I'm the odd one out - the forgotten affiliate.
Maybe like Kirsty, I have to explicitly say I'm eyeing up something first in order to offered it?!
Never mind. I suppose it makes me more determined to plod on and aim for next Christmas.
Bah humbug!

Hey David, happy Christmas and thanks for keeping an entertaining and informative blog going all this time. :)
I had a couple of gifts myself this year for the first time, from Bingo folks - bubbly and sweets - it was a nice surprise for me and most welcome.
BTW, thanks for the Chavs Test review earlier this year. I finally got around to implementing the changes you recommended, and will do it on some of the other sites you looked at as soon as time allows.
Hope 2008 works out great for you. All the best, Dio.

@Gadget - OMG is one of my slowest movers in terms of sales. Finance seems to be quite difficult to do well in. Nevertheless, enjoy the wine!
Merry Christmas!
@Dio - Thanks for the praise. I'm considering posting less next year but compensating this with higher quality content. That's the plan anyway.
Merry Christmas!

There's a few merchants I've sent enough sales to that I think could genuinely deserve a "thank you" present, and haven't had a sausage. Pretty relaxed about it but I'd be miffed if I saw anyone else say they got a present from them :-)

I've had nothing this year (no cards, emails or gifts) but to be fair i'm probally nowhere near the radar to be recognised for one.
I do think it's fair to expect a festive email though or card.
Happy Christmas
Jesse
